SEND Teacher with PMLD experience in the Lawrence Weston Area - Bristol - Role: SEN Teacher Jobs
Axcis are currently seeking an experienced special education needs (SEND) teacher who is seeking a rewarding teaching role at a specialist independent school working with a year 7 group of students with Profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). The school is a recently refurbished special needs school with a fully furbished therapeutic sensory room. The school is dedicated to providing an excellent education to students with a wide variety of SEND, including PMLD, SLD and ASD.
The role is full time on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to becoming permanent after a short period of supply for the right person. You will be responsible for a small class and, together with a talented special needs team; you will ensure the educational progress and personal development of all pupils. Your well structured lessons will equip pupils with the skills to succeed, building pupils self esteem and confidence.
Successful Candidates will ideally hold the following attributes:
" Knowledge of using PECS, Makaton and working with P-Scales is desirable.
" Experience with PMLD, SLD, ASD or similar needs
" Experience with personal care and moving and handling
" A professional manner and the understanding of how to build students' self esteem is also a must.
