Axcis are currently supporting a special SEMH School based in Wandsworth. This SEMH School has excellent transport links with Tooting Bec station a short walk away. This SEMH School is looking for a dedicated and committed SEND Secondary Teacher to join them on a long term basis. Previous experience working with children with social, emotional and mental health needs is greatly preferred. Successful applicants will be able to retain knowledge of a range of methods to support curricular access and development, in order to demonstrate the ethos at this school of high learner achievement and child development. This role is based in the Secondary classroom with the ages at the school ranging from 5-19.
" Adhering and implementing the schools aims, objectives, schemes of work, and policies.
" Sharing responsibility for the wellbeing and pastoral care of all learners.
" Carrying out any reasonable instructions given by the Principal or Senior Leadership Team.
" Have clear intentions for children's learning and to use knowledge of school policy and National Curriculum requirements to plan differentiated work to meet the needs of individuals and groups promoting progression, continuity and quality of learning.
" Use a variety of suitable teaching and learning styles and to communicate clear learning objectives and expectations.
" Use relevant classroom management strategies to ensure that a purposeful environment for teaching is established and learning can take place.
" Organise and maintain a stimulating working environment appropriate for the range of activities taking place.
" Support positive behaviour taking into account the personal, social and emotional needs of learners.
" Establish and maintain a positive regard towards both learners and staff, promoting equality and diversity.
" Monitor and assess learners' work and use assessment data effectively to inform planning and identify individual needs. Use these assessments to set appropriate targets.
" Team Teach Trained
" Extensive SEND knowledge
" Recent successful experience of teaching learners in an SEN school setting
