Job Title: Primary Teacher
Axcis Education are looking for a primary teacher to join a leading special school committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for students with a wide range of needs, including autism, Asperger's, complex needs, and challenging behaviour. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary Teacher to join our passionate team and make a positive impact on the education and well-being of their students. Position: Primary Teacher (KS2) Grade Level: Year 5 and 6 Combined Group Responsibilities: • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with autism, Asperger's, complex needs, and challenging behaviour. • Collaborate with Teaching Assistants to provide individualized support and ensure all students can access the curriculum. • Adapt teaching strategies, resources, and accommodations to meet the unique learning styles and abilities of each student. • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters independence, social skills, and academic growth. • Use positive behaviour management techniques to maintain a safe and respectful learning atmosphere. • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and develop personalised learning goals and strategies. • Collaborate with colleagues and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs). • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of student progress and any concerns. • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the continuous improvement of their school's programs. Requirements: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification. • Experience teaching in KS2, preferably with combined year groups and a range of needs. • Strong understanding of autism, Asperger's, complex needs, and challenging behaviour, and the ability to differentiate instruction accordingly. • Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment. • Collaboration and teamwork mindset, working closely with Teaching Assistants and other professionals. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. • Passion for making a difference in the lives of students with diverse needs.
