KS4 Teaching Assistant Needed for an Alternative Provision in Yeovil | Somerset | SEN TA Jobs
JOB TITLE / ROLE:
KS4 Teaching Assistant Needed for an Alternative Provision in Yeovil - Somerset - Role: SEN TA Jobs
Our client is an alternative provision for students who cannot attend mainstream school. They have several sites, including a site which provides hospital care, however, this role will involve supporting key stage four students with social, emotional and mental health needs.
The school itself is based in Yeovil, situated within a purpose built building with a great range of facilities. Although students study the curriculum, a well rounded education is also a priority, therefore life skills such as cookery, outdoor pursuits and emotional development are a focus. The school follows the THRIVE programme in all its lessons, therefore knowledge and experience of this is advantageous.
The school's ethos is focussed giving students the skills that they will need for life and developing their confidence. Many of the students who attend have mental health issues and low self-esteem, therefore providing a structured routine and opportunities for success is essential.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with students who have SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. In exchange, the school can offer a friendly team and supportive learning environment, in depth training and the opportunity to develop the lives of young people.
The role will start after half term (ideally Monday 19th February), lasting until the end of the academic year. It also has the potential to become permanent.
