Head of Learning Support | Gloucestershire | SEN Leadership Jobs
A large college in Gloucestershire is looking to hire a full-time, permanent Head of Learning Support.
The successful candidate will have ample experience managaing a large budget, managing a team of a reasonable size and significant knowledge of the SEND sector.
Some of your duties and responsibilities will include:
-To manage all aspects of Learning Support across the College ensuring learners are appropriately assessed and receive the level of support required.
-Ensure that initial assessment outcomes are shared with all staff and students
-To enhance the integration of MIS system for planning, recording, and monitoring learning support (pre and on-programme).
-To develop an annual Learner Support Plan that is a robust and holistic assessment, which clearly summarises each student¡¦s support needs in, line with any local and national government policy changes.
-To ensure there is a clearly recorded link between each student¡¦s assessment and
the funding request for their additional learning support (including monitoring
students with a S139a or Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC).
-Pay particular attention to monitoring the data and financial spend of the ALS budget
and apportion costs to ensure effective use of the allocated income
-To monitor costs of learning support to ensure that these remain within the funding
levels agreed for the financial year.
-To ensure the college is compliant with the DSA-QAG Higher Education guidance
understanding the annual quality audit and implement improvements if required
-To ensure that Learning Support deliver methods to meet any ALS funding body
requirement and associated audit.
-To represent the College ( as strategic lead for High Needs) in discussions about
individual learner support with Local Authorities, particular for High Needs Students
(HNS), combining input from transition coordinators, academic teams, and other
learning support staff.
-To undertake regular reviews of learning support areas and produce action plans,
which feed into the self-assessment and business planning strategic process.
-To effectively manage staff appropriately dealing with issues as they arise.
