SEN Teaching assistant Autism Spectrum Disorder Autism or Asperger's Syndrome.
We have an SEN teaching assistant job for a qualified teaching assistant with experience of working with Spectrum Disorder Autism or Asperger's Syndrome pupils.
We are seeking to appoint dynamic Teaching Assistants to join the staff of this very successful and respected special school for pupils aged 7-19. This school is based in a lovely area in Richmond. This role offers the exciting prospect of working within small classes with a qualified SEN Teacher. As the Teaching Assistant you will be working in a class within the ASD resource base.
The successful applicant will be able to work within a child centred classroom, be a team player, place high emphasis on learning and teaching and have a flexible yet friendly attitude towards their work. You will assist groups of children in learning activities, encourage language and speech development and know and use communication systems where appropriate. You will need a minimum of 6 months previous experience working with students who are autistic. It is advantageous if you are familiar with Makaton and/or PECS.
