Required - an outstanding manager to make a major contribution to the delivery of an action plan for Excellence Challenge over the lifetime of the Excellence in Cities project.

'Excellence Challenge' is a Department for Education and Skills funded programme that widens participation for young people into higher education. The post of Partnership Co-ordinator involves extensive work with secondary schools, the college of further education and local and national universities. Principal areas include developing:

Existing links between schools, further education and local universities

Innovative projects (within and outside the formal curriculum) designed to inspire and motivate young people towards opportunities in higher education

A sustained strategy of publicity and marketing in order to provide comprehensive and accurate information about all aspects of university life to potential students and their families.
