Australian Teachers
Welcome to the Australia trained teachers section of Axcis.
This section is designed to make leaving Australia to come and live and teach in the UK easy (well easier!).
For many Australians, working in the UK and using it as a base to explore Europe, has become a rite of passage. Knowing where to begin to look for work is made easier by Axcis.
Many agencies operate solely by email but we have dedicated staff who will telephone you to discuss where you might like to base yourself in London, or indeed Britain so that we can do our best to place you in a school where you will be happy. You will be contacted on a regular basis by Sarah who will make sure that consultants know all about your experience and travel/living arrangements. If you would like advice on the National Curriculum and how it compares to what is taught in schools in Australia, you can speak to several members of the Axcis team who have taught in various states in Australia and in London schools. They will be able to answer any of the questions you have about what to expect in the British classroom.
Once you are in the UK, we will provide you with access to resources and induction, plus invite you to social functions.
So for Australians wanting to teach in the UK, Axcis is able to support you every step of the way.
At Axcis, we have teachers from Australia here to help prepare you for what lies ahead – we know where you have come from and know what changes you are likely to face in and outside of the classroom.
London, England and Europe are exciting places to come to – especially if it is your first time out of the Southern Hemisphere. Axcis understands you may like to secure a long term position or to have the flexibility to travel and teach – just let us know what your requirements are.
Below are the Key Steps you will need to take before leaving Australia. Click on the headings for a full explanation.
