Axcis Annual Company Day 2011
Axcis Education held our first Company Day on Aug 17th 2011 and we hope it will become and annual tradition. It was great to get together and think about what Axcis stands for and how we can best support our candidates and clients and make a real contribution to supporting young people with special needs in our schools.
The importance of placing the right teaching and support staff in schools was brought home by our guest speaker, Jonathan Hanna.
Jonathan was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome at the age of 21 and he spoke to us about the challenges he faced as a child and teenager at school. He was a very bright boy whose disability was not diagnosed, and as a result he was let down very badly by our education system and did not get the support and help he required. Jonathan’s bravery, humour and his commitment to helping give us some understanding of the needs of a person with autism left us inspired.
