Hi Jayde, how many years experience do you have teaching in Australia?
I have 6 months experience.
What made you want to teach in the UK?
I wanted to travel – not too keen on Australia.
Did you need a Visa? If so, what Visa are you on? How hard was it to get?
Yes, I got a working Holiday Visa. It was fairly easy to get.
When you arrived did you have friends/family to stay with?
Yeh, I had friends to live with.
How have you found teaching in London? Good points?
I find it to be difficult. You get no respect from pupils. You travel a long time to get to work and back.
What things should teachers be aware of when planning to come here?
Make sure you know where you will be staying when arriving and have some plans and choices to fall back on.
Have you any regrets?
It is far from home to visit.
Have you done much travelling (if they have been here a while)? What destinations?
No, not really. I've traveled some to Cornwall and Ireland.
Would you recommend the London experience to other Australian teachers? Why and what have you enjoyed?
Yes there are many opportunities, travel and work wise.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
No. I don't think so.
