We are a small school catering for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Our consultant is Stephanie Bellett and I have always found her to be polite and helpful. Stephanie has visited me on many occasions and now has a real ‘feel’ for the type of staff we are looking for and the difference between our needs and those of ‘normal’ special schools.
I began to use Axcis due to the fact they have more knowledge of special schools and a higher proportion of their workers are Team Teach trained compared to other agencies (this is a definite plus for us as all our staff need to be Team Teach trained). We have had numerous workers ranging from 1 day cover, trials to more long term placements. We currently have 3 people working with us at the moment. I have found the majority of workers to be friendly, reliable and hard working.

During the week commencing 11/2/2013 we identified a temporary requirement for 2 agency staff to support as LSA’s within our school for an 11 week period. We haven’t used an agency for over 18 months and so I researched via the internet and our Head Teacher had recommended the use of Axcis due to their connection to The NAS.
On 15/2/2013, I telephoned Axcis and spoke to Stephanie. I explained our requirement. Stephanie listened and went away to source suitable CV’s. Within 30 minutes of our telephone call ending Stephanie had produced suitable CV’s and promptly arranged for candidates to visit us. During the week commencing 18/2/2013 we saw 3 candidates from Axcis, from the 3 candidates we saw 1 candidate was successful and has since commenced as agency staff for the 11 week period. One other candidate who visited us via Axcis advised us this was not the type of work she could consider without training.

As a busy London primary school I need agency support staff I can rely on and who I know will be of a good quality.
The consultants at Axcis work hard to ensure that the staff they send are of the highest quality - proactive, diligent and responsible. They take time to find the right person for me and will not send me staff who they know don't fit the brief. In my experience, often when a school start to work with an agency they get very good initial service which can tail off as the agency can become complacent. Being able to find good supply staff for short-term and long-term placements is vital to the efficient running of Turney school. Axcis is our supply agency of choice and has been for several years for the following reasons:
- We can rely on a suitably trained person in SEN being provided, even at very short notice.
- The agency takes time to understand what our needs are, even to the extent of having face to face meetings to discuss possible candidates.

I have been working with Axcis Education for about 5 or 6 years now. As a special school we do not use agencies for daily supply and have a select list of agencies that we would go to help us with longer term supply placements or permanent staff.
It is important to me that the agencies I work with have a good understanding of the type of school we are, the type of person that will work well within our staff team and are competitive in their rates.
I have found that Axcis fulfils all of these criteria. I have had several consultants over the past few years and all have been professional and had a good understanding of the candidates that I am looking for. Currently my consultant is PJ Soor who has made every effort to get to know both me and my school. She has been helpful and supportive and has been able to provide me with good candidates for both teaching and teaching assistant posts.
I currently employ 2 teaching assistants through Axcis on a weekly supply basis but have also in the past found permanent members of staff via them.
I would have no hesitation on recommending them.

As a school we have been using the services of Axcis, as a primary supply agency to cover our needs for about 3 years. This is due to the excellent service we receive from Kelly and her complete understanding of the type of staff we need on both a daily and long-term supply basis.
I have found Kelly to be professional and to listen to the needs of the school. The calibre of staff we have had has been really good and if there is someone who we feel dosent quite match the needs of the school this is taken on board, not as a critisim but as a postive as to how the service can be improved.
I receive a great deal of calls from other agencies through the day but my business always goes to Axcis as I know they will deliver.

We have been impressed with the expertise of the staff that Axcis provides, particularly those working with children with social and emotional issues. Their work has had a strong impact on the progress of the children they work with. We value the on-going training that Axcis sometimes offers to their temps, such as the team teach training that one of our temps is going to attend.

We have used Axcis Teaching Agency for a number of years and have always found them to be most helpful when requesting supply staff. The teaching they provide are of a good standard, and if we did have any problems, then the agency have always dealt with them immediately and to our satisfaction.

I just thought I would take a few minutes to tell you, although you already know, how good Kelly is. As a nation we are very quick to tell people how bad things are but we rarely comment on the good things.
Kelly is so perceptive of the temps that we needed and really got every one of them right. She is helpful with invoice and timesheet problems and always gets them sorted out immediately. I have phoned her twice now for emergency cover and she has had the person there within an hour or so of me calling. That's what I call service!!
We currently have four temps from Axcis and everyone has brought their own values to the positions they do. Axcis is our first port of call for all temps and permanent staff, and if Kelly can't help then she is honest and tells us that. That's an honesty that a lot of recruitment agencies lack and they send any old person in as it's a booking but that's why we always go to Kelly first with all our requirement needs.

I confirm that I regularly use Axcis Education Recruitment for our special needs secondary school.
Charlton school is a special needs school catering for 11-19 year old students with a wide range of special needs. The school is split into three specialist areas: Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Complex Needs and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
We also have a Post 16 department, and some of our students do attend colleges on certain days of the week to get them ready for when they leave us.
I have found Axcis staff and Kelly Woollard in particular to be very friendly and accommodating for our needs, which can be very challenging for her to find the right staff for our students needs.
All staff that I speak to on the telephone at Axcis are polite and courteous and always willing to help if Kelly is unavailable.

As Manger of a Hospital and Home Tuition Service, I have had many dealings with Axcis through consultant Jean Wilson. This has included employing both temporary supply teachers and Teaching Assistants.
The H&HTS is a very unique setting, and requires a particular type of person who has an understanding of working with children and young people with medical needs, including mental health. Jean shows she has a clear understanding of our requirements, and has even sourced a teacher from Kent to cover a specific subject area for an individual pupil.
After dealing with several other agencies, who have provided inappropriate people, or none at all, I have found Axcis to be of a high standard.
Staff referred are usually appropriate, and a wide variety of CVs forwarded for each post. Staff employed are always of a high standard, and I am currently looking at extending the initial contracts of both a teacher and teaching assistant currently working in the service.
Jean is always easy to contact, and Axcis as a service very easy to deal with. Any delays with submitting timesheets are promptly chased up, and invoices sent regularly.
I am very happy with the service provided by Jean and Axcis, and will continue to work with them in the future.
